FAQs

Have you got a shop? Can I come and see your cakes?

Sharon works from her own kitchen so does not have cakes available for you to see. However, you can view cakes previously made in the cake galleries

All cakes are custom made for each occasion. For weddings and large celebrations Sharon offers a consultation by prior arrangement.

How much will my cake cost?

Cake prices are listed on the ‘Price list’ page. Prices are based on how many servings you require and the detail of your design.

Very time consuming and detailed designs including additional figures may incur an additional charge. Prices may be subject to change due to fluctuations in the cost of ingredients.

Will my wedding cake be more expensive than a celebration cake?

The price of your wedding cake will be based on size and flavour of sponge or choice of fruit cake.

It will also take account of how many servings and tiers you require.

Wedding cakes are designed just for you and are one off creations which takes time and skills that are also reflected in the price.

Wedding cake prices and design details will be finalised during a free consultation and taste testing, however informal quotes can be given if you have a design in mind and basic prices are on the ‘price list’ page.

We aim to provide a high quality and personal service for your wedding cake on your special day and so local delivery and set up is included in the price.

How much notice do you need for my wedding cake?

Wedding cakes can be booked in as soon as you know the date and venue of your wedding. Sharon only takes on a small number of wedding cakes each year to ensure your cake is the very best it can be.

Can I taste some of your cake?

Sharon offers a free tasting and design consultation for wedding cakes or celebration cakes over £150. This is by appointment only between the hours of 10am-2pm Wednesday-Friday term time only.

What about a deposit for my wedding cake?

Wedding cakes require a £75 deposit at the time of booking. This is non-refundable and will ensure the date is saved for you. The balance of your wedding cake will become payable in full 6 weeks before your wedding date.

Do celebration cakes and cupcakes need a deposit?

A non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your order for a celebration cake or cupcakes. The balance is then payable in cash on collection of the cake.

How do I pay the deposit?

You can pay a deposit via PayPal or bank transfer or by cheque or postal order. Please contact Sharon for details.

Do you deliver?

No. Celebration cakes are collection only.

What information do you need from me when I book my cake?

First of all, Sharon needs to know the date you would like the cake.

Sharon needs to know how big you want the cake and how many people it is to serve and what design you have in mind. You can pick a design from the galleries or Sharon can work with you on a bespoke design.

She will need to know any message to be put on the cake and names and ages. She will also need to know what flavour and filling you would like. All prices quoted will be based on vanilla cake filled with jam and buttercream, prices for other flavours are available on request.

Lastly all bookings require a contact tel number and email address.

What flavours can I choose?

Vanilla with jam and buttercream is by far the most popular choice for celebration cakes. All prices quoted are for this type of cake. Other flavours such as chocolate, lemon, carrot and red velvet are available. Fruit cake is also available. Prices for other flavours are available on request.

If your favourite flavour is not on our list then just ask and we may be able to bake it for you.

I do not live in Nottingham, can you post a cake to me?

No, we're sorry but due to the delicate nature our cakes cannot be posted. However, if you are ever visiting our lovely city then feel free to order and make your stay extra sweet

What size cake do I need for my party?

Please have a look at this chart as a guide to servings, these servings are based on a small finger size serving as would be served at a wedding.
